1. Scope
This policy applies to the NaijaDigest Android application and this website. NaijaDigest is an independent news aggregation product operated by TheCreativeDev. Questions about this policy can be sent to muskulee@gmail.com.
2. Information stored on your device
NaijaDigest does not require an account. App preferences, saved articles, notification choices, and cached article data may be stored locally on your device. You can remove this information by clearing the app’s cache or data, deleting saved articles, or uninstalling the app.
3. Notifications
If you choose to enable breaking-news notifications, the app requests notification permission and sends an app-specific push token and basic platform information to our notification service. The token is used only to deliver NaijaDigest notifications. You can stop notifications in the app or through Android settings; disabling them also requests removal of the registered token.
Notification delivery uses Expo’s push-notification infrastructure and the notification services provided by your device platform.
4. Advertising and third-party services
The app uses Google Mobile Ads. Google and its partners may process information such as device or advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location inferred from IP, app interactions, ad interactions, and diagnostic information to deliver, measure, secure, and improve advertising. Google’s handling of that information is governed by its own policies and the consent choices available on your device or in the app.
Articles and images may be delivered through our API, publisher websites, and content-delivery services. Requests to these services can include standard technical information such as IP address, device or browser type, requested URL, and request time.
5. Website data
This is a static informational website. It does not offer user accounts, accept payments, or set first-party advertising cookies. Our hosting provider may process standard request logs and security information needed to deliver and protect the site.
6. What we do not request
NaijaDigest does not ask for your name, contacts, precise location, photos, microphone, financial information, or payment-card details. If this changes, this policy and the Google Play Data safety disclosure will be updated before the new collection begins.
7. Retention and deletion
- Local preferences and saved content remain until you remove them or uninstall the app.
- Push tokens remain active until notifications are disabled, the token expires, or it is removed from our service.
- Operational and security logs may be retained for a limited period needed to maintain and protect the service.
Because NaijaDigest has no user accounts, there is normally no account record to delete. For a privacy or deletion request involving server-side information, email muskulee@gmail.com.
8. Security
We use encrypted HTTPS connections and take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
NaijaDigest is a general-audience news product and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information through the service.
10. Changes
We may update this policy when the app, its service providers, or applicable requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will show the latest revision.
